The origin of the evening is inspired by the Dress In Red Day on The Friends For Life Bike Rally from Toronto to Montreal. The Friends for Life Bike Rally, completed over 6 days, is the sustaining fundraiser supporting the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation, a service-based charity for those living with HIV.

Day 3 of the Rally is a short ride from Adolphustown to Kingston, ON, only 51km compared to some days which stretch well over 100km. The rally uses this day to draw awareness to the cause, and the crew and cyclists all dress in red. More than 200 cyclists wear their most capturing feather boas, hats, glitter, dresses, spandex, and many other fun and inspired garments while drivers on the road honk their horns and residents cheer the riders on along the way.

Just like those who cheer us along when we express our flair cycling through their town, we salute the generosity and joy which our guests bring to our evenings to make The Red Dress Ball such a magical night.
